Intercontinental transport connections
The majority of the European consumer goods are produced in the Far East and shipped to Europe through the Mediteranean Sea.

Continental transport connections
A shorter supply route through the Black Sea and the port of Constanta means a much faster and cheaper way to transport goods. From there to the central european regions, the intermodal chain expands through Timisoara.

The position of Timisoara
Timisoara has a key position in the region, within reach from all major eastern european cities. It lies at half way between Vienna and Constanta.

Transport network
The main transportation axis in Eastern Europe, existing or in construction, are passing through Timisoara and the Timis county linking Central Europe with the Black Sea and the Egeean peninsula.

Regional network
As the main city of the DANUBE-KRIS-MURES-TISA economic cooperation area, Timisoara has close road and railway links to the entire region.

The Timis county
The Timis county is one of the main foreing investors target in Romania. Having well prepared and skilled labour work aswell as close connections to Central Europe, it has the second economic numbers in Romania, after the capital Bucharest.

Timisoara
Timisoara has a rich economic and cultural background. As formerly part of the Austrian Empire and now the 3rd biggest city in the country, it was allways regarded as the most western city in Romania not only by its geographical position.

Industrial platforms
Timisoara has 5 major industrial areas, and more smaller parks. The eastern side of the city gathers more and more investors in logistics and automotive branches.

Timisoara east
The eastern part of the city is quickly becoming interesting. With the new city road belt, and the now building Budapest-Constanta highway passing close by, the area around Remetea Mare will be in the middle of things.

Area functions
The new Intermodal Platform will be buildt by the express-way connection between the highway and the ring-road. The buildable area around the center has over 1000Ha of logistic and industrial- planned field.

Masterplan functions
The area between the express-way and the main railway is the subject of the Masterplan. 100Ha of space for logistics, production and storage, and of course the Intermodal Platform.

Masterplan
This is the masterplan area, with its first stage- the Intermodal Platform, highlighted. While the acces will be made directly from the express-way, in the 1st stage acces will be alowed from the national road. Stages 2 ans 3 are hosting next developments.

The Intermodal Platform
The Intermodal Platform contains 4 up to 750m long railways, warehouses, customs and a business incubator, constructed in 3 phases. The service area alocated to the platform comes with fuel station and truck parking with hotel and covenience stores.
